Summer Camp Director Jessica Tenhor
Camp continues to inspire and challenge us to think about the pure and simple value of having fun and sharing community in a context of non-judgmental support and commitment to celebrating differences. Camp is truly it's own world, and the welcoming culture of Menesetung comes from the passion of the Staff and Volunteers, who wholly dedicate themselves each summer to the pursuit of being positive role models, and placing a high priority on valueing who their campers are and hope to be.

2019 Comes with a shift in the operational structure of Menesetung as we transition from a 'Co-Director' model to an 'Executive Director' + 'Summer Camp Director' + 'Administrative Assistant' model. We are very excited at the new horizons that this opens up for Menesetung and look forward to continueing to raise the bar on quality camper care, programming, and shoulder-season opportunities!
Who are the Directors of Camp Menesetung?
Clayton PetersBMusEd BEd
Jessica Tenhor BOR BEd
Clayton's Camp Directing journey began at Camp Menesetung when he began Co-Directing with his partner Mary Ross in 2016.  Clayton is passionate about the potential for Camp to help campers grow and take steps on their journey to independence. In 2019, after a comprehensive study of different Summer Camp operational structures, the Camp Menesetung Board of Directors made the decision to change camp management positions and offer Clayton the position of half-time year-round Executive Director.

Clayton brings to camp a background in Education and Administration as a teacher with experience working for non-profit administration. When he's not Camp Directing, Clayton is currently a music, drama, & history teacher at Goderich.D.C.I., maintains a personal studio of private music students, and performs as a freelance musician.

Clayton's hobbies include: composition, hiking, board games, photography, and exploring nature.
Growing up, Jessica was always drawn to becoming a teacher. When she was 15 she became a Counsellor-In-Training at Pearce Williams and fell in love with Camp! She continued at Pearce Williams in a variety of roles, including Counsellor, Programmer, and Leadership Team positions. While working at Camp in the summer, Jessica attended Lakehead University, completing a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Tourism, with a specialization in Leadership. When she finished her degree in 2013, she became the full-time Summer Camp Director at Pearce Williams.

Jessica returned to school in 2016 and has now completed a degree in Education. She is now working as an Occasional Teacher in Thames Valley District School Board, both in schools and the Environmental Education Centres.  In her spare time, Jessica finds joy volunteering at Forest City Community Church in London, reading many books, playing board games, and spending time outside.
Slightly - The Assistant Director
Slightly became the Assistant Director at Menesetung in Spring of 2017 at just 8 weeks old, and has spent a higher percentage of his life at Camp than any human he could think of.

He brings to Camp a background in following his nose, playing 'make-believe' with dandelions, and helping people understand that it is in their best interest to be happy and pet him. This unique skill-set, tail, and ever-friendly 'doggy-ality' has proven to be profoundly useful in the ever exciting environment of Camp.

For example, when asked about how to most effectively comfort campers missing home, or calm down stressed staff, Slightly showed he understood the depth of the question by rolling over to have his belly rubbed and making puppy dog eyes.

Having made hundreds of best friends in Summer 2017/18, Slightly can't wait to show off his newfound directorial skills to old and new friends in Summer 2019!
Team Clayton, Jessica, and Slightly combine their leadership, administrative, and Menesetung experiences to bring together a staff of some of the best people you will meet.
They love Menesetung because of the people that come here!
