On behalf of the staff team of 2016, the directors Clayton and Mary would like to thank you so very much for being a part of an incredible summer! Whether a camper, a parent, or a helpful volunteer, you made all the difference in the world of camp.
In summary, here are a few valuable lessons learned here at Menesetung this summer:
Grass only grows if there is water, thanks to the lesson brought by drought and a well draining hill
If you buy a really great headlamp, it will light your way around any bend, lesson brought to us by a day camper and a toilet
If you plan to sleep outside in a shelter made by campers, it will rain
Be careful of how much food you waste at meals, you never know when Ian and Rebecca are low on supplies, lesson sponsored by this year’s popular talent show act Ian and Rebecca in the Kitchen
Singing camp songs around orange and yellow tissue paper is different than singing around a campfire, lesson brought to us by the almost-summer-long fire ban
Refrain from letting young campers know there is a meteor shower, lesson taught to us by the camper who ran into the cabin yelling that a comet was about to hit the camp!

We hope you have a wonderful autumn, keep an eye out for our last few events, such as the annual Turkey Supper (October 1) - and we look forward to seeing you back at Menesetung in 2017

May the wind be ever at your back,
Mary & Clayton
